UCPN (Maoist) unveils election commitment paper

Kathmandu, Oct. 19: The
UCPN (Maoist) has unveiled its election manifesto for the upcoming Constituent
Assembly (CA) election today.
The party has fixed
'Two-thirds vote to the parties advocating federalism with identity, a
comfortable majority to the UCPN (Maoist) for a stable government' as its main
slogan.
The UCPN (Maoist) has
proposed a directly elected presidential system as the form of governance for
political stability and 11-province model for the state restructuring.
Likewise, 11 autonomous
provinces have been proposed based on the ethnicity, language, identity,
economic interrelations, infrastructure development, availability of natural
resources and administrative accessibility.
The 11 provinces
include Seti-Mahakali, Bheri-Karnali, Magarat, Tamuwan, Tamsaling, Newa,
Kirant, Limbuwa, Tharuwan, Madhesh and Kochila.
