Woman dies for lack of timely treatment

Tanahun, Aug. 6: A woman, who gave birth to a child, died this morning for lack of timely treatment at Najung of Baidi VDC in Tanahun district. Baidi is a remote VDC in the district.

The deceased has been identified as Rima, 21, wife of Ram Bahadur Thapa Magar.Rima, who was suffering from labour pain from 10:00 pm on Monday, gave birth to a child this morning.


She died after she fell unconscious time and again due to excessive bleeding, said the family source. The VDC is around 25 kilometers south of the district headquarters. Som Bahadur Thapa Magar, a local, said that the VDC still lacks health and transport services.     Ram Bahadur has gone to India in connection with work, it is learnt. The newborn is safe.
