INISTER POUDEL CONFIDENT ON TIMELY ELECTION

The election government
constituted for conducting the election in a free and fair atmosphere was
committed to its mandate. He expressed his
hope that the opposing parties would finally take part in the election.
Minister in the election
government further said the nation would be a failure state if it could not
witness the election on time. He was on the way to Khimti, Ramechhap which was
hit by the landslide and flood recently.
Meanwhile, Minister
Poudel visited the natural disasters-hit areas in Khimti today and pledged both
immediate and long-term relief assistance to the victims. He directed the District Natural Disaster
Rescue Committee, Ramechhap to identify the real victims and provide them
immediate assistance. During the minister's visit, the victims complained that
they have not received the relief assistance.
In he programme, kin of
those who lost their lives to the flood and landslide received Rs. 40,000 each
whereas the displaced families got Rs. 20,000 each and affected received Rs.
10,000 each.
Similarly, Ramechhap
Chamber of Commerce and Industry provided immediate relief assistance
(foodstuff) to the victims whereas the
Red Cross distributed tents, cloths and utensils to them.
As many as seven people
including three of a same family had lost their lives in the floods triggered
by heavy rainfall on Monday night whereas one is still missing.
